NEW LEVEL OF LUXE

Living Modern showroom brings designer furnishings to the Dallas Market

by NANCY BALDWIN

DISCERNING HOME DÉCOR SHOPPERS need look no further than Living Modern Furnishings & Design for exceptional interior furnishings and personalized service. Each visit to the showroom is a curated and crafted experience that connects design with the individuals who seek it.

“We enjoy working with all kinds of clients. The services we offer help a client who’s building, remodeling or refreshing their home,” says Evan Gerstein, principal and co-founder.
Inside the 7,500-square-foot store is a thoughtfully vetted collection of furniture and objects that represent the very best in mid-century modern and contemporary design. “Dallas architecture is becoming more modern. We see a trend in that direction. There aren’t a tremendous number of retailers selling contemporary products. We’ve been successful at developing that niche,” Gerstein says.

Founders Norma and Evan Gerstein believe in authenticity of experience and excellence of product. Their team of interior designers is thoughtful and intentional in every detail of customer and product interaction.

In fact, each day they challenge the expectation of high-end design shopping and bring exceptional service to a new level. Open to the public, Living Modern provides comprehensive, complimentary design consulting with the goal of achieving the most appropriate solution to a design project.

“It’s important for us to understand not only the styles clients like, but also the functionality. That way we make sure we make the correct suggestions as to what they should buy,” says Gerstein.

Interior design associates offer unique and stylized products with great added value that enhance spaces with sophisticated comfort.

“We have very seasoned personnel, who are very involved. It’s a hands-on approach,” Gerstein says. Consultations include a visit to the homeowner’s residence to evaluate their needs, livability of space, style and color preferences, lighting and architectural features.

“We visit the clients’ homes at no charge. It gives us a deeper understanding of the direction to go,” explains Gerstein.

Associates develop a selection and specification of furnishings, as well as layout options and design ideas. Furniture, lighting and accessories are sourced from the showroom’s 65 manufacturer brands. Customization of fabrics and finishes ensure clients receive high-quality products tailored to their lifestyle.

“We offer a very personalized, no-pressure service,” Gerstein says.

Unlike other high-end décor stores, Living Modern sells furniture and décor off the floor. Furnishings available for immediate purchase also can be seen on the showroom website.

“It’s instant gratification. We’re here to help our clients. We purchase furniture every day. You have to understand the way trends are going,” says Gerstein.

Devoted to the highest-quality service, the co-founders also personally visit client sites.

“We manage the business directly. We are the ones who visit clients’ homes and job sites. We make sure what they’re buying will work well for them,” Gerstein says.

Living Modern also provides compre-hensive consulting for the interior design trade. Turnkey solutions include preferred pricing, detailed specification support, on-site visits, logistics assistance and warranty on all furnishings.

No strangers to the interior design industry, the Gersteins have spent a lifetime serving home furnishings clients.

“Norma and I grew up in the furniture and interior design industry. We had a high-end fixture showroom in Monterrey, Mexico, where we offered high-quality European, American and Canadian-made fixtures for kitchens and baths. We had flooring, plumbing and ceramics for residential and commercial sites,” says Gerstein.

The home décor entrepreneur also founded a multifamily development company with a project in the Park Cities area of Dallas.

During the pandemic, clients can trust Living Modern with their safety and well-being. The showroom follows strict protocols for secure shopping, including controlled access, masks and gloves for each client upon entry, and hand sanitizer stations throughout the floor. All sales personnel wear masks.

“What’s critically important is the safety of our salespeople and clients. Clients can come here and be safe in this environment,” Gerstein says. A one-stop shop, Living Modern Furnishings & Design provides complete design services to create a home of urban distinction.

“It’s paramount that a client is blown away!” says Gerstein. *
